The Normcore Step-Down Filter Basket Kit is a precision-engineered conversion system designed to reduce your brew diameter and intentionally reshape espresso extraction behaviour. By stepping down to a smaller basket format, it increases puck depth and alters resistance, giving you structured control over flow dynamics, pressure response and texture development.

Available in 58mm → 49mm, 57.5mm → 49mm and 54mm → 45.5mm configurations, each kit is offered in either Reduced Flow (0.18mm, 2475 holes) or Standard Flow (0.28mm, 786 holes). Reduced Flow increases resistance for slower extraction and heavier body, while Standard Flow supports faster flow and greater clarity when paired with finer grind adjustments.

Engineered for deliberate dial-in refinement, this system allows controlled experimentation with grind size, dose depth and saturation behaviour without altering your machine setup.
