Overview

The Mi-17 "Hip-H" is an improved development of the ubiquitous Mi-8 transport helicopter. While sharing the same basic airframe and transport capabilities, the Mi-17 features more powerful engines with distinctive intake particle separators and, crucially, a tail rotor positioned on the starboard side (instead of port on the Mi-8). These upgrades enhance its performance, particularly in hot and high conditions, making it a rugged and reliable workhorse for numerous operators worldwide.
