Overview

Produced from the autumn of 1942, the A6M3 Model 32 was a development of the famous Zero fighter, designed to improve its performance against new Allied aircraft. It featured a more powerful Sakae 21 engine and its main wings were shortened and given a distinctive squared-off finish. This resulted in a higher top speed and better roll rate, and its unique appearance led the Allies to give it its own codename: "Hamp."

This 1/72 scale kit from Tamiya is a detailed replica of this unique Zero variant. The model accurately captures the specific features of the Model 32, including its squared-off wingtips and refined engine cowling.
