Overview

The USS New Jersey (BB-62), "Big J," is the most decorated battleship in the history of the U.S. Navy. An Iowa-class battleship, her long and distinguished career spanned from World War II, through the Korean and Vietnam Wars, and into the modern era. Following a comprehensive modernisation in 1982, she was armed with Tomahawk and Harpoon missiles, serving in the Lebanon conflict and the Gulf War before her final decommissioning in 1991.

This 1/700 scale Tamiya kit is a detailed replica of the "Big J" as she appeared after her 1982 refit and is part of the classic Waterline Series. The model accurately features the significant changes made during her modernisation, including the distinctive lattice-style mast and the Armoured Box Launchers for Tomahawk cruise missiles.
