Overview

The Mitsubishi Ki-46 III, codename "Dinah" by the Allies, was a fast, high-altitude twin-engine reconnaissance aircraft used by the Imperial Japanese Army in WWII. With a top speed of 630km/h, it was one of the fastest Japanese aircraft of its time and was exceptionally difficult for Allied fighters to intercept. On the ground, Japanese forces relied on rugged vehicles like the Type 95 "Kurogane," a small 4x4 car used for liaison, reconnaissance, and transport.

This 1/48 scale kit from Tamiya provides a complete diorama in a box, pairing the sleek Ki-46 III Dinah with the characterful Kurogane 4x4 light vehicle. The aircraft features a detailed interior and a choice of four marking options. The Kurogane car is also highly detailed and can be built with its convertible hood in the up or down position. To complete the scene, a total of four figures (two aircrew and two vehicle crew) are included.
