Overview

The Jagdpanther is widely considered to be the best tank destroyer of World War II. It masterfully combined the excellent chassis and mobility of the Panther tank with a powerful, long-barrelled 8.8cm gun mounted in a well-sloped armoured casemate. With the ability to destroy any Allied tank from beyond its effective range, Jagdpanthers used their low silhouettes to carry out devastating ambush attacks from the Battle of Normandy until the end of the war.

This 1/48 scale Tamiya kit is a highly realistic model of the late version Jagdpanther. A standout feature is the die-cast chassis, which provides a satisfying sense of weight and solidity to the finished model. The kit features realistic details like weld marks and cast skin texture, and the connected assembly-type tracks have integrated straight sections for a perfect sag.
