Overview

The M10 IIC "Achilles" was a potent British tank destroyer of World War II, created by up-gunning the American-supplied M10 with the formidable British 17-pounder anti-tank gun. This powerful combination gave Allied forces a mobile vehicle capable of knocking out even the heaviest German tanks, such as the Tiger I, from a distance. The Achilles served with distinction from the Normandy landings through to the end of the war in Europe.
