Overview

With the fall of France in 1940, the German army captured a large amount of military equipment. In a classic example of wartime ingenuity, they adapted the reliable French Lorraine 37L tractor chassis, mounting their potent 7.5cm anti-tank gun in a newly designed open-topped fighting compartment. This improvised tank destroyer, known as the Marder I, went on to serve on numerous fronts throughout WWII.

This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a highly accurate replica of the unique Marder I. The model features a detailed open-top fighting compartment, complete with the gun breech, shell racks, and radio equipment. User-friendly assembly-type tracks allow for a realistic finish, and the kit is completed with two crew figures in pensive, sky-scanning poses, plus three different marking options.
