Overview

Developed for heavy infantry support, the Sturmpanzer IV "Brummbär" (Grizzly Bear) mounted a massive 15cm howitzer on the trusty Panzer IV chassis. The late production version, built from May 1944, featured a redesigned fighting compartment and cupola. These hard-hitting assault guns were assigned to their own dedicated battalions and fought on the Eastern Front and in Italy.

This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a highly accurate recreation of the late production Brummbar. The model features a posable 15cm gun that traverses in tandem with its sight, plus individual Schürzen side armour plates that can be attached or removed. The kit includes parts for both rubber-rimmed and all-steel road wheels to match the two included marking options, and comes with two crew figures. Please note: the Zimmerit anti-mine coating shown in some images requires a separately sold sticker sheet (Item 12673) for replication.
