Overview

During the first half of WWII, the Sd.Kfz. 232 "8-Rad" (8-wheeler) was a vital long-range reconnaissance vehicle for the German Army. With its complex 8-wheel drive and steering, it had excellent mobility, and its large "bed frame" antenna was a distinctive feature of its command and radio role. The 8-Rad truly showed its full potential in the vast deserts of North Africa with the famed Afrika Korps.
