Overview

Developed in the mid-1930s as a cavalry tank, the SOMUA S35 was a balanced and effective design, with many considering it the best French tank at the start of WWII. Its use of large cast hull and turret sections was ahead of its time, and its combination of a 47mm main gun and good mobility proved a worthy adversary for German tanks during the Battle of France in 1940.

This 1/35 scale kit from Tamiya is a highly accurate recreation of the S35, based on extensive measurements of a real vehicle. The model features realistic depictions of the cast metal surfaces on its rounded hull and turret. It includes realistic and easy-to-assemble link-type tracks, a commander figure, and three different marking options.
