Overview

Debuting in 1996 to compete in top-level endurance races, the Porsche 911 GT1 was a pure racing version of the iconic 911. While it shared some design cues with the road car, it was a highly modified machine featuring a mid-mounted, 3.2-litre flat-six twin-turbo engine producing 640hp, a full space-frame rear chassis, and sophisticated pushrod suspension. The 911 GT1 was a dominant force in its maiden season, taking victories at circuits like Brands Hatch and Spa.
