Overview

The Gloster Meteor was the Allies' first operational jet fighter, appearing just before the end of WWII. Post-war, the design evolved rapidly to keep pace with the jet age, leading to the definitive F.8 variant. This version served as the backbone of RAF Fighter Command throughout the 1950s and was also widely exported, becoming a classic early jet fighter design.
